grouting

I am ready to start grouting and I have a question. I have never done this before, nor have I ever had tiled floors.

My question is should the grout be level with the tile? I tried it in the area where my stove goes to get the hang of it in a place that is not seen :) and it seems like there is a slight dip in the grout level compared to the tile.

Could it be the grout???? Or am I just retarded???? I have read and re-read the instructions. I did not add water. But when I go across the grout, it comes out! I have tried everything but it just keep coming out. And when I use a sponge, well you might as well forget that!

Should I open another bucket? This bucket was only half full and have quite a bit of liquid. I have stirred and stirred but the grout just seems kind of runny.

Ideally the grout should be as flush with the top of the tile as possible, but you will have a little bit of a dip in the grout joint. if you feel it's excessive you can grout back over the low areas. Avaire flexible grout will adhere to itself if you need to do some touch up.
