Question-
Should I leave a 1/4 inch space along the tub? And the second question, should I fill the space with grout or caulking?

A space of 1/8" is typical and yes, that juncture should usually be caulked with traditional tile and not grouted. But, with the Avaire grout I'm thinking you could grout that juncture without a problem.
