Installing avaire tile up to an exterior threshold without a molding isn't a problem. leaving an 1/8" expansion space at the threshold is a good idea, but instead of grouting the space with Avaire grout use a quality sealant and caulk up to the threshold. The caulk will perform better than the grout because it's more flexible and a better choice with the movement associtated with a door opening and closing, also in many climates caulking may be a better choice because condensation may form at metal thresholds.

Installing next to a threshold

I am installing Avaire tile in a foyer and there is an entrance door there. The tiles will come within 1/8 of an inch to the top of the threshold. My question is will I be able to cut the tiles an eighth of an inch short and grout up to the threshold? I do not have enough height to install a moulding.
