If you remove the tabs, starting with full tiles and leaving an expansion will be fine. You can either cut them or saw them off whatever you're more comfortable with.

One thing to keep in mind, if you're starting off with full tile at a wall, be sure the cut tile has at least two tabs left on, otherwise you should cut some off you're starter row and try to balance the room better.

Hope this helped.let me know how it went.

laundry room - starting

I'm gearing up to Avaire tile my laundry room soon, the area is 10x10. Just a few questions. I would like to start on one wall with full 12x12 pieces then continue toward my washer and dryer area. I'm assuming I need to remove all the plastic tabs on the one side that will be 1/4" from the wall or do I have to cut the tabs off (saw). OR... am I better off starting in the center, as directed, and working toward the top, bottom and sides of the room then dealing with the walls as I reach them. I figure if I have to use cut pieces, better off they wold be behind the washer an dryer not seen. Sorry if this is a nooby question. I want to do this right the first time. Planning is everything. Thanks Mike- Wisconsin
