I use either an overlapping vinyl stairnose or an overlapping wood or laminate stairnose.

One idea is to use metal tile edging available at home centers. The stairs of course will have to be installed with thinset tile mortar and the tile edging is installed at the same time the tile is put in place. The risers (if also tiled) will have to be done first so that the stair-tread-tile overlaps the riser tile.

We have just started our install of about 400 square feet of Avaire flooring. So far everything is going great, and it looks wonderful. I was wondering if anyone had pictures they could share of some ideas on how to do the stairs though. Thanks in advance.
