Edge of tub

When installing tiles next to the tub it is not wise to have a grout line next to the tub. Do I need to cut the white plastic tabs off before installing? If so how much space should I allow between the tub and tile?

If you have a full tile up against the tub, we recommend removing the tabs before installation. You'll need to leave roughly 1/4" to have room to engage the tabs on the other side. Use a quality caulk between the Avaire tile your tub.

So I do not need to grout at the tub edge? I just fill the 1/4 inch gap with caulk?

No, you should NOT grout at the edge of the tub. Use a caulk. There are a number of colorized caulks available at various home centers that will be very close to the Avaire Flexible Grout colors.

Here's why: While the Avaire Flexible Grout is indeed flexible, there can be substainial movement at the joint between the floor and the tub. While you might never have a problem using grout, if there is separation, you can get moisture in the crack. A caulk has more flexibility.
