Plastic tray

Hello, I noticed something during my install today about the tiles. About half of them had a grey rubber on the plastic tray and half of them had white rubber. Also the grey rubber tiles had a texture on the pattern side. The white rubber backed tiles had a more glossy appearance. I also couldn't quite tell but the grey tiles seemed a little thicker. Is this normal?

Oh I'm not sure if it matters but all the tiles are Camel color and were purchased at 2 different stores. 1 store in Duluth MN and 1 in Superior WI.
