Plastic Tabs on Perimeter

Do the plastic tabs on the perimeter need to be removed? Only one wall will be seen so I'm not worried about centering the tile. I've removed the base board so there is actually space underneath the wall board for the plastic tabs. Also there is a tub - will the tabs need to be removed on that perimeter as well?

It is not required to remove tabs around the perimeter, but you can place the tiles closer to the wall if you do. In many cases, you will have cuts on the walls anyway, making the decision moot.

In wet areas like a bathroom, kitchen, or laundry room, we recommend using a caulk around the perimeter. Primarily to help prevent water from seeping around the floor perimeter in the case of a tub or toilet overflow. While even caulk won't prevent water from getting under the tiles, it can slow down the process. The caulk also helps "lock-in" the perimeter tiles.

Does it make a difference if the cut edge of the tile or the factory edge of the tile meets up with the carpet? Just not sure if the cut edge will be sharp possible causing a cut or chipped and looking better with grout/caulk over it. Thanks again.

The "factory edge" on the Avaire tile is arguably a more precision cut compared to a typical field cut. There is also a "micro bevel" on the factory edge which gives it a finished look. A decent wet saw with a sharp blade will give you a nice clean cut. And, with a tile "hone stone" you can hone down a cut edge to acheive a similar look to the bevel finished factory edge.
