Tile surface sheen
Author: Bill Newman
Date: 4/10/2008 10:34 am EDT I just installed the tile in 2 bathrooms. I noticed a spot that was dull on a couple of the tiles. I first thought that it was a dribble of something that needed to be cleaned off but upon cleaning the spot it just got larger. Is there a coating on the tile to give it a higher gloss that I am washing off? |

Date: 4/10/2008 11:02 am EDT Based on your description, the glossy finish is a haze left from the grout. The best way to remove the haze is with a product called Krud Kutter. It is sold at many retailers, but not always with the other cleaning products. I believe it is sometimes sold in the paint section. |

Date: 4/12/2008 2:53 pm EDT Yes, you can use Krud-Kutter before the first 7 days to clean the grout haze. In fact, the longer the haze is allowed to stay, the harder it will be to remove. |
