Tile near a tub

How do you tile against a tub? You state you need a 1/4
gap. You can't install a piece of trim against the tub
So what do you do?

You leave the 1/4 inch gap at the tub and grout it.

I just finished doing two bathrooms and I left the required gap, grouted the gap and then when the grout was dry, I ran a bead of caulk along the tub to dress it up.
