radiant heat in small room

I have a small bathroom with a concrete floor. But the door sits at a 45 deg. angle to the room. This means that one corner of the 3 x 5 heat mat will protude into a carpeted area by almost 12". I would like to know if a traditional heat system would work with avaire tile or should i call a real tile guy and go old school.
